Registered Nurse (Medical/Surgical) - Long-Term Assignment

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: 36 hours per week, day/night rotating shifts
• Specialty: Medical/Surgical Nursing
• Required Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of Level 1 Medical/Surgical nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required

Required Qualifications

• Licensure:

  • Valid RN license for Massachusetts (Primary Source Verification required)
  • MA Conditional Licenses are NOT accepted
  • Both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required

• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred)

• Health and Safety Requirements:

  • N95 Respirator Fit Test within 365 days of start date (no exemptions allowed)
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (if fit test required)
  • Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
  • TB screening: Negative TB skin test or blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months
  • Physician-signed Health Statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months
  • If positive TB test, documentation of negative chest x-ray required

• Testing and Skills:

  • Medication exam with 80% passing score within 365 days
  • Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission

• Background and Compliance Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if break >6 months
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if break >6 months
  • Social Security Number trace for past 7 years
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Education verification of highest degree achieved
  • Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the skillset

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Skills checklist
• Candidate submission coversheet (current version)
• Two references as described above

Additional Notes

• Fit testing cannot be performed onsite; must be completed prior to start
• No religious or medical exemptions allowed for fit testing
• Background checks include international residence or travel exceeding 30 consecutive days within the last 7 years
• Name change documentation required if legal name differs from credential documentation
