Job Opportunity: Inpatient Acute Physical Therapist Assistant

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Description

• Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient conditions.
• Establish, revise, and evaluate plans of care involving patients and families.
• Deliver therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques appropriate to patient conditions.
• Oversee activities of physical therapy assistants, students, and support personnel.
• Work requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a potentially stressful environment.
• Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Oklahoma
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant, including experience within the last year

Health and Compliance Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)

• Documentation of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
• Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be completed onsite).
• Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
• Varicella immunity documented by vaccination, serology, or history (no declinations accepted).
• Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
• 2-step PPD or IGRA testing for tuberculosis with annual TB questionnaire updates.
• Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Influenza vaccine is optional but recommended during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); declinations require mask wearing.
• Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of start.
• Employment and education verifications relevant to clinical work.
• Skills checklist for specialty completed within one year of start and updated annually.

Additional Notes

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, acute inpatient environment.
• Personal protective equipment use is mandatory following standard precautions.
• This is a long-term assignment lasting approximately 13 weeks.
