Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician

Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (10-hour shifts)
Call Schedule: One weekday call every 2 weeks, rotating weekend call

Job Description

• Certified scrub tech needed to support surgical services.
• Work schedule includes 10-hour shifts with specified call responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience.
• Experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Onboarding & Documentation Requirements

• Completed skills checklist for the assigned unit, updated annually.
• Core Competency Exam with a minimum score of 80%, updated annually.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license or state ID (not expired).
• Agency background check within 30 days of start, including:

  • SSN address trace for all counties lived/worked in last 7 years
  • FACIS 3 check
  • County and national criminal searches
• 9+ panel drug screen excluding marijuana (per New York state regulations).
• Resume documenting all employment and gaps for the last 7 years, including education history.
• Two professional references:

  • One supervisor reference from employment within the last 12 months
  • One supervisor or peer reference from employment within the last 3 years
• Verification of most recent employer (agency verification required, not hospital).
• Signed and dated job description.
• Color headshot photo (JPEG format, professional appearance).
• Completion of required forms and acknowledgments found in the document library, including:

  • Health personal information form
  • Code of conduct
  • Confirmation of assignment form
  • Self-study packet and quiz
  • Sexual harassment acknowledgement
  • Parking registration form
  • 7 instant background checks (manual upload required)
  • TB questionnaire form
  • Drug and tobacco acknowledgment

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
