EEG Technician (Temporary)

Job Summary

Perform EEGs and assist Neurologists and Neuro Technologists with EMGs, clinic visits, and other clinical duties. Responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment, conducting EEG exams, producing accurate reports, and responding to patient emergencies. Maintain equipment and ensure high-quality EEG results.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with nerve conduction studies (NCVs) and other clinical tasks.
• Explain EEG testing procedures to patients and families.
• Maintain and adjust equipment for accurate results.
• Obtain accurate patient histories.
• Perform routine activation procedures such as hyperventilation.
• Recognize and eliminate artifacts in EEG recordings.
• Verify physician orders and patient identification.
• Understand medication effects on EEGs.
• Follow infection control and patient safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of EEG and/or EMG experience.
• Experience with EMG/Neuro procedures required.
• Active ABRET Certification.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Work history and skills checklist relevant to EEG or EMG within the past year.
• Two supervisory reference forms with employment dates.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates not eligible).
• Applicants who were direct employees within the last 2 years are not eligible.

• Dress code: Royal Blue Scrubs.
• Nonbillable hours: 16 hours.
