Registered Nurse (RN) - Towson, Maryland (Temp)

Job Description

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care in accordance with professional nursing standards and organizational policies.
• Accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self and others under direction.
• Utilize specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to provide care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years recent General OR experience (required)
  • Experience in GYN, bariatrics, vascular, ortho, neuro, and plastics (required)
• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active Maryland RN license at time of submission (Compact license allowed)
  • BLS (AHA) certification required
  • RN license verification must be less than 30 days old
  • Certifications must be active at time of submission or willing to obtain within 48 hours of accepting an offer
• Other Submission Requirements:

  • Resume with explanations for any gaps over 30 days
  • 2 supervisory references (one within last 6 months, one within last 12 months)
  • Skills checklist specific to the discipline (less than 1 year old)
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (declinations not accepted); vaccination status must be included in submission notes

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Environment & Additional Information

• Facility is a 257 licensed bed acute and sub-acute care hospital located in a suburban campus.
• Handles over 23,000 admissions and 52,000 emergency room visits annually.
• Orientation for RNs held every other week on Tuesday and Wednesday; candidates may be considered for orientations scheduled up to 6 weeks out.
• Candidates may request time off equivalent to 1 week of their contracted hours, either as a continuous 7-day block or separate hours totaling the equivalent.
• Overtime starts after 48 hours worked.
• The facility offers a comprehensive range of medical services including primary care practices with extended and weekend hours, hospice, and bereavement services.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with a strong background in general OR nursing and specialized surgical areas, seeking a temporary assignment in a well-established healthcare setting.
