Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Temporary Position

Location: Mound City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 8

Job Description

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Administer procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities and exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments and document outcomes.
• Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding cognitive and/or physical disorders.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings or in-services.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
• Assist in obtaining necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as needed.
• Maintain accurate and regulatory-compliant documentation in the electronic system, including treatment minutes.
• Adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Missouri
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, including experience within the last year
• Experience in Long Term Care settings
• Experience in Rehabilitation settings
• Experience as an Occupational Therapist Assistant

Additional Information

• This is a temporary assignment with a 13-week duration.
• Day shift with 8-hour workdays.
