Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Long Term Care (LTC) - Days

Location: Kerrville, Texas

Job Description

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Perform manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive/assistive devices as part of the rehabilitation plan.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly.
• Report treatment effectiveness and provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Document all required clinical and regulatory information accurately in the electronic documentation system.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings or in-services.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
• Collaborate with supervising Physical Therapist to obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies.
• Adhere to APTA and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Texas
• Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
• Experience in a Long Term Care setting
• Experience in a Rehabilitation setting

Work Details

• Day shift schedule.
• Full-time hours at a single facility; no travel between buildings required.
• Productivity expectations: 90-93% for Assistants.
• Typical treatment times: ~30-35 minutes for Medicare A and Managed Care patients.
• Caseload typically ranges from 7-12 patients per day depending on case mix.
• Group therapy is allowed and encouraged to support productivity.
• Therapists have dedicated devices for documentation.
• 8 hours of unbillable time included.
• Overtime, holiday, and call back pay at 1.25x rate.
