Job Description
- Schedule: Weekdays and some weekends; every other weekend.
- Shift: 3x12's, 7 AM - 7:30 PM (36 hours per week).
- Patient Ratios: Estimated 1:3-5.
- Unit Details:
- East Tower 5: 24 beds (9 cardiac stepdown, 15 medical-surgical beds).
- Floating: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
Qualifications
- Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years.
- Certifications Required:
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Skills Required:
- IV Start
- Telemetry
- Intermediate care
- Epic Experience: Required.
- Preferred Experience: Cardiac/IV Insulin GTT.
Additional Information
Certifications and Competencies
- Residency Declaration Form: Required if using a compact license from any state other than Ohio.
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification: Required based on unit specifications.
- Competency Exams: Unit-specific competency exam required.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Exam: Required within 1 year of start for all RNs.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required prior to start.
Health Documents
- Physical Exam: Required within a year of start.
- Vaccinations:
- Tdap
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer or 3-vaccine series)
- Flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 3 months of start.
Background Checks
- Criminal Background Check: 7-year check required within 1 year of start.
- Fingerprinting: Required for all candidates.
References
- Professional References: 2 required, including at least 1 from a manager/director.
