Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work with diagnostic X-Ray equipment.
- Experience with C-arm and portable X-Ray machines is required.
- Experience with O-arm equipment is preferred.
- Equipment used includes Philips, Siemens, and GE systems.
- Weekend work: Every third weekend required; may be scheduled every other weekend based on unit needs.
- Scrub color: Black scrubs.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Local candidates and first-time travelers are accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid X-Ray Technician license in New Jersey.
- Minimum 2 years of X-Ray Technician experience, including experience within the last year.
- ARRT (R) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Experience with C-arm equipment.
- Experience with portable X-Ray equipment.
Documentation and Compliance Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start.
- Physical exam within the last 12 months confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
- Drug screen within 30 days of start.
- Background check within 30 days of start.
- Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit testing required prior to start.
- Annual influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required.
- Color vision testing may be required if job tasks involve color discrimination.
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history.
- Two professional references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference.
- Skills checklist to be completed and updated annually.
- Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start date (New Jersey state requirement).
Additional Notes
- Schedule requests, including time off, must be submitted with application and approved before offer.
- Candidates must comply with all required certifications, health documents, and facility-specific policies.
- On-site fit testing is mandatory; candidates with facial hair must be clean-shaven unless approved for accommodation.
- Candidates must complete required competency exams and pass orientation testing as applicable.
