Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday with rotating weekends every 6 weeks
• Required to work 50% of holidays during the assignment
• Work environment includes Level 1 Trauma Center, Emergency Department, Inpatient, and Operating Room
• Patient age groups: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
• Equipment experience preferred: Siemens, McKesson, or GE systems
• Physical demands: Active role requiring ambulation, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
• Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses possible
• Facility operates 24/7, requiring rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather
• Must be able to work full shifts, take call, and fulfill weekend and holiday requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technician, including experience within the last year
• Experience working in an Inpatient setting
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS: AHA or ARC Provider card required
• AART: Required for Radiologic Technologists
• ACLS: Preferred but not mandatory
• State licensure for Radiology Tech in Missouri required (primary source verification within 60 days of start)
• Additional certifications may be required depending on specific clinical areas

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start
• Separate EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusion screenings required within 60 days
• International background check required if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years
• Drug screening: Negative 7-panel drug test required within 60 days of start
• Immunizations and health screenings required, including but not limited to:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity verification
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity verification
  • Varicella immunity verification
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Fit mask test required annually (exceptions apply for some roles)

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge (new candidates only)
• Completion of facility-specific forms and acknowledgments within 60 days of start
• Resume must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days
• Two professional references from the last 2 years required
• Ability to comply with all essential job functions and facility policies

Physical & Work Environment

• Active role requiring physical stamina and ability to move equipment and patients
• Exposure to infectious diseases possible; adherence to infection control protocols required
• Work includes rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and inclement weather conditions
