Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position primarily in pre-anesthesia, open to candidates with combined pre-anesthesia/PACU experience.
Shift options:
- 8 or 10-hour shifts until 5 PM.
- Later shifts available (11 AM to 9:30 PM for 10-hour shifts, 1 PM to 9:30 PM for 8-hour shifts) for candidates with DOSA and PACU experience.
Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required.
Patient ratio: 1:3.
Patient diagnoses include pre-op care for orthopedic, gynecological, general surgery, neurological cases, and pediatric ENT.
Unit involves Pediatric ENT cases and a variety of surgical specialties including bariatrics, cardiac, endoscopic, neuro/spine, plastics, robotics, urology, vascular, and more.
Skills required include ambulatory/outpatient care, PACU phases I & II, pre/post-operative procedures, blood product administration, PICC line care, procedural sedation, airway management, pain management, and many specialized surgical and patient care skills.
Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.
First-time travelers accepted. Local candidates must live more than 75 miles away.

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
Minimum 3 years of Pre-Op nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Certifications issued by the American Heart Association:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Experience in Pediatric PACU.
Experience with surgical specialties including bariatrics, endoscopy/laparoscopic, plastics, robotics, vascular surgery, carotid endarterectomy, radical neck dissection, tonsillectomy, and cholecystectomy.
Competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion mandatory.
Experience with patient ratios of 1:3.
Proficiency with EPIC Electronic Medical Record system.
