Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (NICU Preferred)

Job Description

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and/or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required
• 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty required
• First-time travelers accepted
• EPIC experience required
• 36 hours per week, every other weekend and holidays
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience preferred

Required Certifications and Licenses

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Louisiana
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Requirements/Qualifications

• Respiratory Therapist with 2 years of experience
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holidays

Additional Notes

• Blue scrubs required
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Required Compliance and Documentation

• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Government-issued photo ID matching candidate documentation
• Drug screening within 30 days of start
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (recent testing required)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination (required Oct 1 – March 31)
• Annual competency exams and certifications as applicable

Summary

This is a travel Respiratory Therapist contract position in Louisiana requiring 2 years of specialty experience, RRT and/or CRT credentials, and state licensure. NICU experience is preferred but not mandatory. The role requires EPIC system experience and offers a schedule of 36 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday shifts. First-time travel therapists are welcome to apply.
