ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 19:00 - 7:30)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work every other weekend and 50% of holidays required
• Floating assignments:

  • Primary: Adult ICU Cluster
  • Secondary: Medical-Surgical unit
• Rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather expected
• Physically active role requiring ambulation, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
• Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses in a 24/7 healthcare facility

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Essential Job Functions

• Ability to work full contract term at assigned location
• Ability to work full assigned shifts, including call, weekends, and holidays (at least 50% of holidays)

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS and BLS required for all RNs in ICU
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., TNCC for ER RNs starting 11/5/2024)
• Medication and competency exams as applicable
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (agency form accepted)
• Fit mask test valid within 1 year (specific mask types required)
• Compliance with facility-specific vaccination and exemption policies
• Background and caregiver registry checks must be completed and cleared prior to start

Additional Notes

• No local travelers within 50 miles allowed
• First-time travelers with solid ICU experience are welcome
• Must be able to float between ICU and Med Surg units as needed
• Must be able to work night shifts consistently
