Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each, Monday to Friday with a rotating day off weekly (usually after a call shift).
- Call requirements: 1 to 2 call shifts per week and 1 weekend every 6 weeks.
- Responsibilities include assisting physicians with interventional neuro, vascular, CT/US guided procedures.
- Must be proficient in scrubbing as first assist, circulating, filming, and charging exams in electronic medical record systems.
- Preferred experience with EPIC, Siemens single and Bi-plane equipment, and McKesson PACS.
- Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Kentucky (must be obtained before start date)
- Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT(R) certification
- RTR or RTRVI certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology (IR) experience with skills in Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR) and neuro procedures
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background checks including county and national criminal searches, sex offender search, education verification, and others must be current and updated annually.
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, updated annually.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by a licensed provider confirming good health and ability to perform job duties.
- Immunizations and health screenings required and must be current:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with annual questionnaire
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination with boosters if needed)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer or vaccination with booster if needed)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption
- COVID vaccination series or approved exemption (booster preferred but not required)
- Fit mask testing within 1 year, updated annually.
Competency and Skills Verification
- Must complete required competency exams including medication/pharmacology, unit-specific competency exams, math ability exams, and conscious sedation competency as applicable.
- Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication knowledge required for certain units.
- Skills checklists must be current and updated annually.
- Certification for First Assist RN (Certified First Assistant) required if applicable.
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references verified within 6 months of start, preferably from direct supervisors.
- Employment history verification covering the last 7 years, with explanations for any gaps longer than 30 days.
- Must sign facility-specific policies including confidentiality, acceptable use, electronic communications, and password policies prior to start.
