Job Description
- Shift: 4x12 hour shifts, every other weekend required
- Primarily assigned to Labor & Delivery (L&D) with required L&D experience
- May float between NICU, PICU, and Pediatrics units based on facility needs
- Must have experience in a Children's Hospital within the last 3 years or experience at a level 1 adult facility
- Minimum 2 years PICU experience required
- Floating to other nearby hospital locations may occur
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Indiana State Respiratory Therapist License (temporary license accepted if applied for permanent)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NBRC RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required if placed in L&D (can be obtained after offer)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
- Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience
- Minimum 2 years Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience
- Experience in a Children's Hospital within the last 3 years
- NICU or PICU experience
- Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
Unit Information
- Home unit will be NICU, PICU, or Pediatrics, but may change based on facility needs
- Floating between NICU, PICU, and Pediatrics units expected
Additional Requirements
- Must provide written confirmation of comfort with every other weekend shift requirement before submission
- Background checks including 7 years of residence/work history, education verification, and various federal/state screenings required
- Physical exam within 12 months of start date required
- Fit mask test within 12 months required (specific respirator models accepted)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TB test within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Seasonal Flu vaccination/documentation required (no declinations accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months required
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology test required
- References: minimum 2 from recent employment with supervisory titles required
- Skills checklist within 12 months required
Important Notes
- Indiana RN’s will not be allowed to work at this facility after 11/30/24 except for Perioperative/OR, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers
- Mandatory completion of facility-specific orientation modules for RRT candidates prior to start
- On-site fit testing available only as a last resort with limitations
