Location: Durham, North Carolina

Job Details

  • Schedule:
    • Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
    • Thursday: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
    • Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
    • Saturday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Weekend required)
  • Orientation: First week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Patient Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics
  • First-Timer Friendly: Yes
  • Local Candidates: Considered within 75 miles

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Mammography Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Certification: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Experience with EPIC charting system
  • Flu vaccine is mandatory; no exemptions or declinations accepted
  • Scrub color: Hot Pink

Certifications & Training Requirements

  • Mammography Tech specific:
    • 40 hours of training in Mammography
    • 25 supervised mammograms
    • 8 CEUs of initial training in 2D and 3D Mammography
    • 15 CEUs in the last 2 years (all Mammography)
    • Documentation of 200 mammograms in the last 12 months, broken down by month
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only (refer to unit specifics)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit specifics (PALS, NRP, CPI, etc.)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days of start, including multi-county and nationwide searches
  • Education verification from an accredited Radiologic Sciences program (AAS or above)
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel test including THC within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (vaccines or positive titers)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine (declinations not accepted)
    • Polio vaccine or attestation

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months (at least one supervisor)
  • Employment application with 7 years of work history
  • Skills checklist updated annually
  • Competency exam specific to unit required
  • Candidate must set up a guest account prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems

Notes

  • Weekend work on Saturday is required
  • Orientation sessions are held bi-weekly
  • Candidates must comply with all facility-specific documents and agreements prior to start
  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position
