Job Description

• Care for patients with observation status, respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative/end-of-life/hospice care, psychiatric observation, diabetes (including new and complicated cases), surgical patients, and surgical observation.
• Use of EPIC electronic health record system.
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred.
• Must pass a mandatory Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
• Successful completion of Pass/Fail testing including EKG and Medication/Pharmacology exams
• Acknowledgement and compliance with Pass/Fail testing requirements

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card
• Background Check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education Verification (Associate's degree in nursing or higher required)
• Transcript/Diploma as proof of highest education
• Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation if education obtained outside the U.S.
• Fingerprinting (NC SBI Fingerprint Results) required for certain positions (Home Health and Long-Term Care only)
• Physical Exam (if applicable)
• Immunizations and Health Documents:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer proof
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption
• Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 40 days of start
• Badge photo meeting strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing)

Testing and Competencies

• Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed, must score 82% or higher)
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)
• Color Blind Testing (as applicable)
• Competency Exam (as applicable)

Orientation and Onboarding

• Completion of Health History Form prior to clearance
• Review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement
• Completion of EPIC test with passing score (2 attempts allowed)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• Workday login and onboarding tasks completion prior to start

References and Work History

• Two supervisory references required from clinical assignments (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
• Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
• Verification of all employment within last 5 years through third-party vendor

Scheduling and Policies

• Flexible scheduling required
• Zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Must be able to complete compliance by deadline (12 Noon EST Wednesday prior to start date)
