Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Work Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Total 36 hours per week

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience
• IV start skills required
• EPIC electronic health record experience required
• May be required to float to other units
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• NCC C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced certification

Competencies & Exams

• Unit-specific competency exams required
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required prior to start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and annually thereafter (with remediation process if needed)

Licensure & Background Checks

• Ohio state license verification required within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification required for RNs
• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
• Background checks include SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide search, sex offender registry, motor vehicle record (if driving required)
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring required
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, documenting good health and free of contagious disease
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
• TB questionnaire required annually in lieu of TB test
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if low titer
• Hepatitis B: titer or 3-vaccine series, declination accepted
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemption requires documentation
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); mask required if declining
• COVID-19 vaccine not required but strongly recommended

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager or formal leadership)
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Annual review and acknowledgement of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually

Notes

• Fingerprinting must be completed at a Fast Fingerprints location if possible; results typically take 1-2 weeks
• New fingerprinting required if there is a break in service of 90+ days or if previous results are older than 1 year
• Facility does not require annual background check updates but Aya Healthcare requires annual background checks for direct candidates
• Candidates may renew ACLS and BLS certifications at the facility if needed

This position is ideal for experienced L&D nurses with strong EPIC skills who are comfortable working night shifts and meeting comprehensive credentialing and compliance requirements.
