Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialist

Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Unit & Schedule Details

• CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) not accepted
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
• No on-call required
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Minimum Experience: 1 year (first-time travelers accepted)
• Holiday Work: Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment

  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
• Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
• RTO (Return to Office) policy: Maximum 7 days
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Required Experience & Certifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in specialty
• Certifications (as applicable to specialty and role):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for RNs/RRTs in critical care and related specialties
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for RNs in certain specialties if pediatric patients are accepted
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Online course required within a few months of hire
  • Tech Certification Verification (National)
  • State License (Georgia) – Required for CRTs & RRTs
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including multiple county and national checks, education verification, and FACIS 3
• Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start (Aya requirement)
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
• Immunizations & Health Documents:

  • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer, boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer, boosters if needed
  • Flu vaccination or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)

Competency Exams & Testing

• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs by Aya)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by Aya)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related units)

• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
• References: 2 clinical references required by Aya (not required by client)
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated within 12 months
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
