Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Travel/Contract)
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Job Requirements
Licensing:
- Nebraska state license preferred to be in hand before start (licensing process takes 6-8 weeks; start date adjusted accordingly).
- Primary source verification required prior to start.
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA required
- CRT required, RRT preferred
- PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience preferred.
- At least 1 year must be at a large (>500 bed) Level 1 Trauma, Academic Medical Center.
- Level 1 Trauma experience required.
- Epic charting experience preferred.
- First-time travelers accepted.
Education:
- High school diploma required for Respiratory Therapists and laboratory roles.
- Education verification required.
Background Checks & Compliance:
- Government-issued photo ID required.
- Comprehensive background check within 30 days of start, including nationwide and federal enhanced searches.
- SAM (System for Award Management) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) checks required within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter.
- Nebraska DHHS Adult & Child Services Registry Search required within 30 days of start.
- Drug screening within 60 days of start and annually thereafter.
- References: 2 work references from past 2 years required.
- Annual skills checklist required.
Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
- Fit mask test (3M 1860 Small/Regular or 3M 1870+) within 1 year, updated annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Tdap/Tetanus within last 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (annual updates)
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low/equivocal titers)
- Hepatitis B titer (declination acceptable if non-reactive)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low/equivocal titers)
- Flu vaccine preferred (documentation or declination required)
- COVID-19 vaccine preferred; medical/religious exemptions accepted.
- Eye exam required if working in OR (within 30 days of start).
Additional Information
- Locals: Not accepted; candidate must live more than 100 miles from facility.
- Parking: Parking permits available (~$55/month) or daily parking rates apply.
This position is at a large, 718-bed acute care teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma center and academic affiliation, providing care for complex patients.
