Job Details
- Position: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Circulator)
- Location: Arlington, Virginia
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (07:00 - 17:30)
- Call Requirements:
- 2-3 call shifts per week (long or short call)
- 2 call weekends in a 6-week period
- Short call (weekdays): 17:30-20:00 post-shift as backup if cases are complete; stay if cases are running
- Short call (weekends): 07:00-14:00 Saturday and Sunday
- Long call (overnight emergency): 17:30-07:00, must be on-site within 30 minutes of page
- Weekend long call starts Friday 17:30 through Sunday 07:00
- Scrubs: Provided by hospital
- Possible COVID-19 precautions
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Virginia RN license in hand at submission is required
- Experience: Must have experience as Cath Lab Circulator with RLHC/PCI, Peripheral, and EP circulating experience
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, preferred but not required for students/practitioners
- Competencies:
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (basic level) required for Telemetry and critical care specialties
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Core Parts I, II, and III annually updated
- Color Blind Testing prior to start
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification required
- Drug Testing: Negative 11-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (time sensitive)
- Physical Exam: Pre-employment physical within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit Mask Test: Fit test within last 12 months required (specific mask brands accepted)
- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); medical or religious exemptions allowed with documentation
- Negative TB test (PPD, Tspot, or QGold) within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required
- Required titers or vaccinations for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Adult TDAP vaccine required for certain units (includes ICU, ED, Labor & Delivery, etc.)
- Radiation Badge: Required for Cath Lab staff; attestation of prior radiation exposure required
- EPIC System: CUPID Cath experience preferred; EPIC training modules required for some candidates
Schedule & Work Environment
- 40 hours per week, 4 shifts of 10 hours each
- Call responsibilities include both short and long call shifts, with weekend coverage
- Must be able to respond on-site within 30 minutes during long call
- Hospital provides scrubs
- Possible exposure to COVID-19 precautions

- Completion and signing of multiple facility-specific documents including:
- Code of Ethics & Acknowledgement
- Confidentiality and Information Security Agreement
- Dress Code
- Hand Hygiene and Infection Control manuals and tests
- Parking forms and policies
- Vendor Access Request (VAR) form and background check through HireRight
- Online orientation and attestations
- Mission and Vision Statement, National Patient Safety Goals, Notice of Privacy Practices
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance
- Must wear both agency and facility badges at all times
- Completion of facility-specific policies such as chaperone policy, anchors, and management of information policy
Additional Notes
- Candidate must update submission packet and profile with the exact start date requested
- Flu vaccine exemptions require agency/facility review and approval with supporting documentation
- Candidates must complete EPIC training modules as assigned; some modules may take 5-8 hours
- Drug testing and fit testing are time sensitive and must be completed promptly after signing
