Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Santa Monica, California

Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM), ideally Saturday through Tuesday
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide support to the psychiatry consult liaison service.
• Conduct collateral interventions for initial psychiatric evaluations.
• Assist with community placement for patients meeting inpatient psychiatric care criteria.
• Provide additional support as needed.
• Charting in Epic required.
• No on-call duties.
• No floating between units required.
• Weekend work required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in California.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Current and valid Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID.
• Background checks within 30 days of start, including:

  • Social Security Trace
  • 7-year National Criminal History Search (County searches)
  • National Sex Offender Search
  • FACIS level 3 search (includes OFAC)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM search (annual)
  • HHS/OIG search (annual)
• Education verification: Diploma, official transcripts, or verification of highest education level.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• Immunizations and health screenings within required timeframes:

  • Negative TB test (QGold) within 1 year of start.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Declination or proof of vaccine within required timeframe.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B: Proof of immunity or vaccination as required.
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (Aya requirement).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season.
• COVID vaccine or declination per facility guidelines (vaccine dose after 9/12/2023 required or declination accepted).
• Facility-specific onboarding documents including:

  • Photo for badge (high-quality, recent, color headshot).
  • Confidentiality agreement.
  • HIPAA training and acknowledgment.
  • Harassment prevention training certificate (California mandated).
  • Abuse reporting acknowledgments (Elder, Child, Domestic).
  • Annual education modules including OSHA training.
  • Other facility-specific forms and training modules as required prior to start.

References & Employment History

• Two professional references required; must be supervisor level or above.
• One reference must be from within the last year and include dates of affiliation.
• Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps of 30+ days.
• Work history verification for last 5 years, including gap explanations.

Additional Notes

• This position does not require floating between units.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Weekend shifts are mandatory.
• First-time travel social workers will not be considered.
