Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

• Position for a Respiratory Therapist who can be either Registered (RRT) or Certified (CRT).
• Strong Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience is required.
• Every Other Week (EOW) scheduling is required.
• Local candidates will not be considered.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapist with at least 1 year of NICU experience.
• NICU respiratory therapy experience within the last year.
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Copy of valid Driver’s License or State ID.
• Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days).
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• Annual respirator fit testing including mask size.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with appropriate follow-up documentation if applicable.
• 12-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start.
• Completion of medication/pharmacology competency exams as required.
• Signed System Access and Confidentiality Agreement prior to start.
• Completion of Healthstream orientation courses including glucose testing demonstration.
• Influenza vaccination exemption forms accepted for medical or religious reasons (if applicable).
• COVID-19 vaccination exemption forms accepted for medical or religious reasons (facility-specific forms).

Additional Notes

• Flu vaccination is not required for employment but documentation or declination form should be kept on file.
• Candidates must be prepared to comply with all facility-specific health and safety protocols.
• This position is strictly for travel/contract professionals; local applicants will not be accepted.
