Registered Nurse - NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)

Location: North Kansas City, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 18:45 - 07:15 (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
Weekends: Every third weekend required

Job Description

Must have Cerner EMR experience (no exceptions)
Work in Level 3 NICU and attend high-risk deliveries
Patient population: Neonates 29-34 weeks and >34 weeks gestation
Skills required:
- Endocrine/Metabolic: Blood glucose monitoring, hyperbilirubinemia, insulin administration, phototherapy
- Respiratory: Endotracheal tube suctioning, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), respiratory distress syndrome, tracheostomy management, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
Preferred skills: Medication administration, emergency meds (surfactants)
Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
Minimum 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
Experience with Cerner EMR system
