Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry)

Location: Brownwood, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry)
• Candidates located at least 50 miles from the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, RQI acceptable)
• BLS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, RQI acceptable)
• PALS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, RQI acceptable)
• NRP (as applicable)
• CHEMO (as applicable)
• TNCC (as applicable)
• EFM (as applicable)
• ENPC (as applicable)
• NIH Stroke Certification (annual updates required)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) for Telemetry RNs
• State License Verification (within 30 days of start)
• NURSYS Verification (within 30 days of start)
• Tech Cert Verification (within 30 days of start)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update required)
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (Telemetry RNs)

Background Checks & Verifications

• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start; update annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• Education Verification (highest level) or transcript/diploma
• Texas-specific checks (DADS Employability Status and Employee Misconduct Registry) within 30 days of start
• SSN, Counties, National, OFAC, Sex Offender, Motor Vehicle (Home Health only) checks

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam (within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
• Fit Mask Test (annual; 3M 1860 Regular or 1860S required)
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (within 72 hours of contract signing; annual TB questionnaire required)
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or exemption (for 2025-26 season)
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; no pending results allowed

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Color Blind Testing (online Ishihara test acceptable)
• Competency Exam (as applicable)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of orientation modules (~3-4 hours)
• Review and sign various facility-specific acknowledgments and agreements prior to start, including:

  • Vaccination Information Acknowledgment
  • TB and Occupational Exposure Acknowledgment
  • Patient Centered Pledge
  • Contract Employee Receipt and Acknowledgement
  • Computer Security Agreement
