Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (High Risk Labor & Delivery)
Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in an acute patient setting.
- Deliver holistic, individualized care considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
- Educate patients and families, manage transitions of care.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers.
- Work in a high-risk Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit.
Requirements
- California RN Licensure
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Intermediate certification
- Minimum 2 years of OB experience
- Must have EPIC electronic medical record experience
- EKG testing required onsite (must score 80% or higher)
- No on-call duties; weekend rotation required
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate required
- EKG competency exam required onsite
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Other certifications may be position-dependent (e.g., CCRN, TNCC, PALS)
- State license verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually.
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
- Employment history verification for 7 years with no gaps over 30 days.
- References required (Aya requirement only).
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear for work).
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
- Immunizations required or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- TB screening (negative test within 90 days, renewed annually)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (11/1 - 4/30)
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start.
- Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam required).
- Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually.
Facility Specific Requirements
- Review and sign facility policies and job description prior to start.
- TB questionnaire required within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
- Compliance with dress code policy.
- Completion of vendor training, code of conduct, and overpayment refund policy documents as required.
- Religious exemption forms available for PAPR use and certain vaccine requirements.
Work Schedule
- Weekend rotation required
- No on-call duties
