Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Kinston, North Carolina

Shift Details
- Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Rotation: Every Other Week (EOW) and holidays as needed
- No specific call; depends on facility needs
- No block scheduling
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
Unit Description
- 42-bed Medicine Acute Care unit
- Patient population includes End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), autoimmune and connective tissue disorders, pneumonia, chest pain, congestive heart failure (CHF), GI bleed, and diabetes
- RN responsibilities include facilitating admission, treatment, and transfer of patients
Required Certifications & Skills
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required for all units
- NIH Stroke Certification - Must be current and in hand
- EPIC charting experience
- Preferred: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days while on assignment
- Education verification required within 90 days of start
- State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted as final)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no titers accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical or religious exemptions accepted with approval)
- COVID vaccination proof if vaccinated (requirement can be waived if not vaccinated)
Additional Notes
- No local candidates within 50 miles accepted
- No holiday return to office (RTO)
- Candidates will not be interviewed
- Candidates must complete LMS modules during orientation
- Confidentiality and Code of Conduct forms must be reviewed and signed (auto-validated upon upload)
This opportunity is ideal for RNs experienced in acute care medicine with strong skills in managing complex patient populations and who hold current certifications in BLS and NIH Stroke. Night shift availability and flexibility for holiday coverage are required.
