Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Cartersville, Georgia

Unit Details

  • Patient Diagnoses: General Medical-Surgical, Peritoneal Dialysis, Radial Bands Recovery (no PCI)
  • Weekend Schedule: Every Other Weekend
  • Call: None
  • Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
  • First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Work Requirements

  • Holiday Work:
    • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
    • If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
    • If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work two of them
  • Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
  • RTO (Return to Office) Policy: Maximum 7 days
  • Full compliance with onboarding required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for many specialties; confirm if required for this role
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required if working in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): May be required depending on specialty area
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire if applicable
  • State License: Must be licensed in Georgia
  • NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start

Required Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs by Aya)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
  • Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by Aya)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU)

Background and Compliance

  • Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including education verification
  • Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • Transcript/Diploma: Required for certain specialties (e.g., RRTs)
  • Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy: Must be reviewed and signed prior to start

Health Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Within 12 months of start; can start with TB test pending if TB questionnaire on file
  • TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
  • Immunizations:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters may be allowed post-start if eligible
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters may be allowed post-start if eligible
    • Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination required
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
  • Flu Vaccination or Declination: Required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31); vaccination strongly encouraged

History and Verification

  • References: 2 clinical references required by Aya
  • Skills Checklist: Must be updated within 12 months
  • Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
