Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Mountain Home, Arkansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

• 17-bed ICU/CSICU
• Patient range: neonates to geriatrics
• Cardiovascular care including coronary artery bypass grafting, thoracotomy, carotid stenting, heart valve replacement/repair, and other vascular interventions
• Experience with interventional and non-interventional procedures, general surgery, and advanced therapies such as:

  • Intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP)
  • Induced hypothermia
  • Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
  • Impella Heart Pump

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and leadership within the nursing team
• Use nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Collaborate with healthcare team to promote evidence-based care and a healing culture

Requirements

Education & Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (ADN required, BSN preferred)
• Current Arkansas or Compact State RN License in good standing

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required

Skills & Other

• Effective communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge
• Position is safety sensitive under Arkansas Act 593 (Medical Marijuana regulations)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year history and annual updates
• Verification of education and licensure (NURSYS verification)
• Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgements (e.g., dress code, pre-screening checklist)
• Health documents including:

  • Physical exam (within 1 year)
  • Immunizations and titers for TDAP, Hepatitis B, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray
  • Drug screening (10-panel, negative result required)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccination documentation or exemption notification
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
• References: 2 required within 2-3 years
• Work history verification for past 2 years
