Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Discipline / Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours, PM/Nights
• Schedule: Every other weekend coverage required
• Patient Age Group: Adults (preferred experience with Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents)
• Patient Diagnoses: COPD, Asthma, Critical Care, Emergency Care
• Special Procedures/Unit Details:

  • Adult Critical Care
  • Emergency Department
  • Direct Intubation
  • Estuation
  • Nasal Airway Placement & Suctioning
  • Oral Airway Placement
  • Oropharyngeal Suctioning
  • Pulmonary Hygiene
  • Sputum Specimen Collection
  • Tracheostomy Suctioning
• Special Equipment:

  • Ventilators: Servo I required
  • Aerosol Set Up Mask/Trach, Medihaler, Metered Dose Inhaler, Handheld Nebulizer, T-Piece Nebulizer, Trach Collar Nebulizer, HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP
  • Troubleshooting High Pressure Alarms
  • Weaning from Mechanical Ventilation

Required Qualifications

• License: Rhode Island State Respiratory Therapist License (RRT)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Respiratory Therapy)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (Unit accepts first-time travelers)

Additional Requirements

• Scrubs: Any color
• Electronic documentation experience preferred (Meditech)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background checks including SSN trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check
• Fingerprinting required for Rhode Island (NCIC/BCI) for RRTs
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer, declination, or vaccine series
  • Varicella vaccination, positive titer, or provider documentation
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• Drug testing: 9 panel drug screen after position acceptance
• Respiratory Safety Clearance (RespSafety) required annually
• Professional references: 2 for travel/allied/per diem acute care (within 3 years)
• Annual competency exams and skills checklist as applicable

Notes

• No previous permanent or staff experience required
• Prior travel experience is NOT required for this position
• Religious or medical exemptions for COVID-19 booster may be requested and require approval
• Facility-specific confidentiality, technology access, and orientation agreements must be completed prior to start
