Job Summary: Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

Licensure & Certifications

Must have a Pennsylvania or compact nursing license
BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA preferred)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required (AHA preferred)
Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)
Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification required

Experience

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
Work setting experience required in General nursing
Preferred experience in Level I Trauma and Ambulatory settings
Scrub and circulate experience required
No floating required
On-call duties required
Weekend shifts: None required

Background & Compliance Checks

Comprehensive background checks required covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint clearance required within 90 days of start
Child Abuse Search, PATCH Search, Medicheck Search required within specified timeframes
Education verification required
Employment application with 7 years of work history and explanations for gaps required
Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within last 12 months required

Health & Safety Requirements

Physical exam within 2 months of start
Fit test questionnaire and respirator clearance required (if applicable)
Negative drug screen (10 panel or 9 panel without THC) within 60 days of start
Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- TDAP within 10 years
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or vaccination series
- Hepatitis B: positive antibody titer or completed vaccine series (declinations not accepted)
- Varicella: positive titer or vaccination series
- Flu vaccination required unless declination accepted under specific conditions
- COVID-19 vaccination required or signed declination with facility-specific form
TB testing: Negative TB test or chest x-ray as per guidelines
Hepatitis C testing required only for Operating Room and Dental specialties

Competency & Testing

Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months of start (passing score 80%)
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for RNs (passing score 88%)
Pass/fail testing (EKG/Medication) required for all RNs except certain specialties
Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and pass/fail testing acknowledgment required

Additional Notes

Candidate must be ready to return to work (RTO) at time of submission
No preferred scrub color
Some facility-specific documents and forms required prior to start (e.g., badge photo, provisional employment affidavit)
Candidate must comply with all facility and state-specific documentation and clearance requirements

This position is suitable for experienced Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of clinical experience, preferably with trauma or ambulatory care exposure, who are comfortable with scrub and circulate duties and on-call responsibilities.
