Job Opportunity: Diagnostic Radiology Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Bend, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Role: Diagnostic Radiology RN
  • Responsibilities:
    • Administer moderate sedation
    • Collaborate with anesthesiologists
    • Work in CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray, and MRI departments
    • Float to Pre-Surgery Clinic for pre-procedural phone screenings when Diagnostic Radiology shifts are unavailable
  • Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (variable days Monday through Friday)
  • Weekend Requirement: Approximately every 5 weeks, on-call 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
  • Minimum 1 year of Radiology experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one successful travel assignment
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience working with Pediatric and Neonate patients
  • Experience in a Clinic setting
  • Certifications issued by the American Heart Association:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Moderate Sedation certification
  • Skills and knowledge in:
    • 12 Lead EKG
    • End-Tidal CO2 monitoring
    • Malignant Hyperthermia Protocols
    • Monitoring Procedural Sedation
    • Radiation and Laser Safety
    • MRI Safety
    • Bone Biopsy assistance
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

  • Must comply with a 75-mile radius rule (locals not accepted)
  • No pending licenses accepted
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: Total of 7 days allowed
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification, and transcript/diploma on file
  • Health documents required:
    • Physical exam within 1 year
    • Immunizations and titers (TDAP, TB test or chest X-ray, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella)
    • Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
    • COVID vaccine preferred but not required; declination or exemption required if unvaccinated
    • Respiratory safety clearance annually
  • Facility-specific documents and competency exams required prior to start
  • Photo for badge required within 48 hours of signing

Scheduling & Other Notes

  • Open to accommodating block schedules
  • Floating within scope to meet facility needs (pre-surgical phone screenings)

This position is ideal for experienced Diagnostic Radiology RNs with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable with moderate sedation and working across multiple imaging modalities.
