- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Clinical Skills & Work Setting
- Experience with Post MI, Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, Chest Pain, Peripheral Vascular Disease
- Peritoneal Dialysis
- Telemetry, EKG, Doppler
- Unit uses Epic, Pyxis, SBAR systems
Workload & Schedule
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1:5
- Unit size: 16 beds with average daily census of 16
- Weekends: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Call: None
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (if 1 holiday falls, work it; if 2 holidays, work both; if 3 holidays, work 2)
- Major holidays include: Spring Break, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Orientation & Compliance
- Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background Check (within 30 days of start, must be complete prior to start)
- Education Verification (degree verification required; can be pending at start with proof)
- State License Verification (Georgia RN license required)
- Annual NURSYS Verification
- Physical Exam (within 12 months)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 12 months) and TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Flu Vaccination or Declination (required for 2025-26 season)
- References: 2 clinical references required
- Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof)
Competency Exams (Aya Required)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing Online
- Competency Exam (Nursing and Allied)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (3 attempts allowed; failure on 3rd attempt results in cancellation)
