Job Overview
- Location: Omaha, Nebraska
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night, 4x12 hours
- Weekly hours: 48
- Schedule options: 36 or 48 hours per week; 13 or 26 week contract options
Specialty / Unit Details
- Mixed acuity medical-surgical, telemetry, and stepdown unit
- Neuro and neurosurgery patient population
- Travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently within scope
- May care for up to six med-surg patients
- Ratios:
- Med-surg/telemetry: 1:5 days, 1:6 nights; rare 1:7 nights
- Stepdown: 1:3-4 days and nights
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of prior experience in a large, urban hospital
- First-time travelers not accepted, unless the traveler has 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
- EPIC charting experience
- Must be able to work with drips on all floors
- Nebraska RN license accepted as pending at submission, but if not in hand at submission the start date will be booked six weeks out
Schedule / Attendance Expectations
- 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Up to 2 weeks of requested time off is permitted
- Time-off requests must be submitted with the application
Compliance / Onboarding
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Background check required
- Education verification required
- State-specific registry search required
- References required: 2 work references from the past 2 years
- Annual skills checklist required
Health / Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam required
- Fit test required
- Tdap/Tetanus within the last 10 years
- TB screening required
- Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity or vaccination documentation required
- Hepatitis B titer required
- Drug screen required
- COVID vaccination preferred; exemption or declination accepted
- Flu vaccination documentation or declination required for applicable start dates
Additional Notes
- Locals are not accepted; candidate must live more than 100 miles from the facility
- Scrubs are mandatory and must be Steele gray with the facility logo
- Facility is nicotine free
- Parking is available for a monthly permit or daily rate
- Eye exam is required only for travelers working in the OR
