Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract position in Ventura, California
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift, 3x12 hours
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio: 1:4
• Patient population: neonates through geriatrics

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in California
• ED - Emergency Department (3 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or ENPC
• NIHSS
• TNCC

Clinical Experience

• General emergency department care for adult and pediatric patients
• Level II trauma center experience
• Non-trauma emergency department experience
• Pediatric emergency department experience
• STEMI-certified facility experience
• Stroke-certified facility experience
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Arterial line management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• Phlebotomy
• Starting IVs
• Continuous IV sedation
• IV vasopressors
• Medication administration
• Procedural sedation administration
• CVA care
• ICP monitoring
• Spinal cord injury/TBI care
• Head/spinal cord injury care
• Near drowning care
• CPAP/BiPAP
• ABG interpretation
• Ventilated patient care
• Gunshot wounds
• Ortho-trauma and traumatic amputation
• Isolation precautions
• Triage

• Cerner and Pyxis are used on the unit
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application and is limited to one request
