Travel Registered Nurse — Transplant

Overview

  • Location: Omaha, Nebraska
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • Weekly hours: 36
  • Contract options: 13 or 26 weeks
  • Floating: Must be prepared to float frequently within scope to meet facility needs

Unit Details

  • Adult medical-surgical/telemetry and progressive care transplant unit
  • Cares for pre- and post-liver, kidney, pancreas, and intestinal transplant patients, plus intestinal rehabilitation patients
  • Adolescent patients age 15+ may be on the unit but are cared for by core staff only
  • Typical nurse ratios: 1:5 days, 1:6 nights; rare night ratio may be 1:7

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • 2 years of prior experience in a large, urban hospital
  • EPIC charting experience
  • Must have 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center if considered as a first-time traveler

Preferred Qualifications

  • NIH
  • CPI

Additional Requirements

  • Travelers are first to float
  • Drips required on all floors
  • Locals are not accepted; candidate must live more than 100 miles from the facility
  • Pending license accepted; if not in hand at submission, start will be booked six weeks out
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • Up to 2 weeks of requested time off permitted
  • 100% nicotine-free facility
  • Scrubs required: Steele gray with logo
  • Parking available for a monthly permit or daily rate parking
