Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical

Contract Length

• 9 weeks

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts, day/night variable (7a-7p / 7p-7a)
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• Float to all inpatient units with appropriate patient assignments
• On-call with minimum 2-hour callback

Hours

• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours with potential call-back pay

Unit Overview

• Post Surgical Care Unit (PSCU) with 40 beds
• Care for pre- and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio:

  • Day/PM: 1:4 or 1:5
  • Night: 1:5 to 1:7
• Fast-paced unit averaging 10-15 admissions per day
• Occupancy 90-95% during the week
• Average length of stay: 2-3 days (except joint patients)
• Requires ability to multitask, prioritize acuity, and work as a team

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin RN License
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2+ years Medical-Surgical nursing experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience REQUIRED
• Epic EMR charting experience REQUIRED

Equipment Used

• Epic EMR
• Rovers for medication scanning
• Alaris pumps

Additional Information

• Radius rule: Must be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Scrub color: Any color allowed
• Flu season policy: Travelers declining flu and COVID vaccinations must wear a mask at all times per facility policy; non-compliance may result in corrective action
