Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift: 12-hour variable shifts (day and night)

Job Description

• Work in a combined unit of Emergency Department (ED) and Medical-Surgical (MS) nursing, approximately 50/50 split.
• Unit includes a 16-bed inpatient area (inpatient, observation, hospice, swing bed) and a 4-bed ED with 3 exam rooms.
• May float to Infusion Therapy Clinic for medication co-sign or break relief as needed.
• Responsible for care of both inpatient and ED patients.
• Weekend/Holiday: Must be available to work every weekend or 2 out of 3 weekends; holidays as needed.
• On-call/Call-back: May be placed on call during low census; call-back minimum is 2 hours.
• Charting experience with Epic is required.
• Scrubs: Any color allowed.

Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

• Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) License
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in Emergency Department (ED) and Medical-Surgical (MS) settings (higher value between 2-3 years applied).
• Must have experience in both ED and MS nursing.

Other

• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (radius rule).
• Compliance with mandatory flu and COVID vaccination policy during flu season or wear a mask at all times (no exceptions).
• GSA (Geographic Service Area) not applicable during orientation week.
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours.

Additional Information

• Float requirements include coverage for Med Surg, ED, and possibly Infusion Therapy Clinic.
• Unit cares for extended ED boarder patients.
