Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

Location: Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed, except during holidays when unit is closed)
Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Unit & Work Environment

• Medical-Surgical unit with 22 beds
• Patient ratio up to 1:6
• Float assignments may include other units and nearby facilities based on census (e.g., Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Mukwonago)
• Charge nurse role required; additional training provided for charge responsibilities
• Must be able to read telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and identify heart rhythms
• Recent Epic charting experience within the past 12 months required
• Hardworking, resilient, adaptable to change, and socially engaged candidates preferred
• Scrub color: Any

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience in a short-term acute care hospital setting
• At least one prior travel contract preferred
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required at time of application
• Ability to work night shifts and float within clinical skill set (any float outside clinical skills requires approval)
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless a medical or religious exemption applies

Additional Information

• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Holiday shifts include:

  • July 4th (night of July 3)
  • Labor Day (night of September 6)
  • Christmas Eve (December 24)
  • New Year’s Eve (January 1)
• Orientation week hours may vary and are not guaranteed under GSA hours policy
