Respiratory Therapist Travel Job - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shift (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: Guaranteed 36 hours (except during holidays when the unit is closed and orientation week)
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend, occasionally every third weekend
• Holiday Rotation: May be scheduled for holidays if necessary
• Float Requirements: Primarily to PICU and NICU; may float to general med/surg acute care units and EDTC
• Call Requirements: No on-call or call-back duties

Work Environment

• Pediatric critical care settings including:

  • PICU (24 beds)
  • Pediatric cardiac ICU (24 beds)
  • Pediatric medical ICU (24 beds)
  • Pediatric surgical ICU (24 beds)
  • Level IV NICU (70 beds)
• Team includes 2-3 Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPs) in PICU and 3-4 RCPs in NICU depending on census
• Charting system: Epic Clin Doc (preferred)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
• Respiratory Therapist (3 years of experience)
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• NRP
• NBRC RRT
• Associate Degree or Certificate
• Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
• Ventilator management experience with Servo I, Servo U, LTV, Astral, Trilogy, and Oscillator equipment
• Invasive and non-invasive ventilation experience
• CPAP and BiPAP experience
• RAM cannula experience
• NAVA ventilation experience
• PEP experience
• Inhaled nitric oxide (INO) experience
• Intubation and extubation experience
• Tracheostomy patient care experience
