Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

Location: Jasper, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (except during holidays when the unit is closed)

Unit & Patient Population

• 22-bed adult medical-surgical unit
• Primary diagnoses include orthopedic surgeries (TKR/THR/TSR), back surgeries, abdominal surgeries, small bowel obstruction, infections, osteomyelitis, acute kidney injuries, and urology cases
• Fast-paced environment with a strong focus on patient safety, teamwork, and high-quality, patient-centered care
• Collaborative culture where agency nurses are supported and set up for success

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• BLS certification and Indiana nursing license required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must be highly adaptable with strong clinical judgment, assessment, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to deliver safe, efficient care in high-acuity environments
• Strong communication skills and resilience in managing change
• Social and team-oriented attitude

Additional Information

• Potential to float between medical-surgical-like departments
• On-call/call-back requirements vary and are negotiable
• Possible weekend/holiday shifts (e.g., July 4th or Labor Day), subject to discussion
• No local candidates within a 40-mile radius will be considered
• Scrub color: navy; no competing health system or agency logos allowed on scrubs
• Attendance policy: 3 call-ins may result in termination
• COVID-19 vaccine not currently required (subject to change)
• GSA hours not guaranteed during orientation week
