Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Assignment

Location: Pahrump, Nevada
Contract Length: 6 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week (guaranteed)

Job Summary

• Provide comprehensive nursing care including executing provider orders, medication administration, and assisting in patient examinations and treatments.
• Apply nursing and supervisory techniques in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
• Perform technical and clinical procedures within scope of education and licensure.
• Attend sick calls with the physician, prepare examination rooms and equipment.
• Dispense medications and document according to policies.
• Assess new or ill/injured inmates/residents and refer to emergency care as needed.
• Perform emergency procedures and coordinate treatment orders.
• Supervise licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff.
• Monitor inpatient hospitalizations for early releases.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of medical records.
• Assist with review and documentation of medical services.
• Monitor potential catastrophic illnesses and audit pharmacy use for compliance.
• Provide health counseling and education individually or in groups.
• Prepare and maintain medical and operational records and reports.
• Facilitate accreditation processes by providing appropriate medical services.
• Prepare safety and accident reports and respond to serious incidents and emergencies.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience within the last year, excluding Home Health, Hospice, and School Services.
• Ability to work nights with open availability per scheduling policy.
• US Citizenship and social security card required for facility clearance.
• Valid driver's license.

Additional Information

• 36-hour weekly guarantee with expectation of open availability.
• Initial contract length is 6 weeks.
