Overview

• Location: Golden, Colorado
• Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights, 1900-0700
• Hours: 36 per week
• Shift: Night 12
• Call: No call shifts required; on call is listed as yes
• Holidays: Required unless requested off

Required Qualifications

• Valid Certified Surgical Technologist license in Colorado
• NBSTSA
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Certified Surgical Technologist with 2 years of experience
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician program, or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months, or two years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last three years
• Experience in a hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital
• Active National Certification as an ORT in Surgery
• Certified Surgical Technologist

Role Summary

• Performs duties as a member of the surgical team to support safe and successful operative procedures
• Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and reports to Surgical Services management
• Supports system-wide and surgical operations initiatives and participates in the surgical operations safety plan

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains the operating room and surgical items to meet sterilization criteria
• Maintains the sterile field and a safe environment
• Recognizes and addresses sharps and fire safety processes
• Prepares the operating room and instruments for surgery
• May assist with sterile processing
• Assists the surgeon during procedures within ORT scope of practice
• Identifies emergency situations and responds appropriately
• Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure
