Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II
Location: Grand Blanc, Michigan

Job Description
- Demonstrate understanding of cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology.
- Assist with orientation and training of Cath Lab staff.
- Participate in special projects and relevant committees.
- Adhere to medical ethics principles relevant to the Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II role.
- Thorough knowledge of ECG and related medical terminology, including recognition of lethal arrhythmias and ECG changes related to heart chamber enlargement and myocardial infarctions.
- Knowledge of ACLS protocols and ability to intervene during lethal arrhythmias.
- Understand common cardiac pathologies, symptoms, and treatments.
- Understand cardiac medications (generic and trade names), pharmacokinetics, indications, and dosages.
- Recognize and alert physicians to abnormalities in clinical lab values (Arterial Blood Gases, electrolytes, hemoglobin, BUN, creatinine).
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and all components of ACLS during cardiac arrest.
- Monitor diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures and percutaneous interventions.
- Identify coronary anatomy in cine angiographic projections and cardiac pressure waveforms.
- Calculate hemodynamic parameters and record catheterization events.
- Prepare supplies and set up for diagnostic cardiac catheterization.
- Perform cardiac outputs, O2 saturations, and ACT measurements.
- Differentiate between PTCA, directional and mechanical rotation atherectomy.
- Understand extraction devices (angiojet, rotoblator, laser revascularization).
- Explain thrombolytic therapy indications and complications for Acute MI.
- Identify benefits of intravascular ultrasound and Doppler velocimetry.
- Describe indications for electrophysiologic testing, pacemaker implants, therapeutic ablation, and implantable cardioverter defibrillators.
- Operate Cath Lab fluoroscopy system components to ensure physician visibility during procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Experience as an Electrophysiology Technician
- Current CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Scrub experience in heart catheterization procedures
- Scrub experience in peripheral vascular procedures
- Scrub experience in electrophysiology (EP) procedures
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Ability to scrub in a sterile environment for extended periods.
- Ability to wear lead aprons weighing up to 5 lbs for extended periods.
- Ability to lift patients to/from stretcher/bed to procedure table with team assistance.
- Ability to push a bed or stretcher with an immobilized patient with team assistance.
