Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Emergency Department

Job Summary

• Provide specialized and innovative care in the Pediatric Emergency Department (ED).
• Handle a variety of emergency and trauma situations requiring quick, decisive actions.
• Assess incoming pediatric patients with physical and mental health conditions.
• Prioritize injuries and medical needs accurately and efficiently.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 18 months of nursing experience in a pediatric ED environment.
• Recent ED experience within the past six months.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills to develop effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide range of professional nursing services.
• Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Education Requirements

• Required: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing)
• Preferred: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Required Certifications & Licensure

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - American Heart Association
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - American Heart Association
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours
• Telemetry certification

Preferred Certifications

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - American Heart Association
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
