Job Description

• Provide safe patient care in the ICU using nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Deliver direct patient care within scope of practice.
• Guide patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care.
• Responsible and accountable for assigned patients' care.
• Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic results, and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to patient condition changes or treatment responses.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Must be available to work weekends.

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a staff RN in acute care hospital critical care.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• COVID-19 vaccination and boosters preferred.
• CCRN (Critical Care RN) certification preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Required Credentials and Compliance for Onboarding

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • RN License (Nursys verification)
  • BLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • NIHSS Certification
  • DCI/BVP (Workplace Violence Prevention)
• Health & Safety:

  • COVID-19 Vaccine (2 doses + booster or declination completed)
  • MMR (Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity
  • Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement)
  • TB Test
  • Varicella vaccination or immunity
  • Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted in some locations)
  • Annual Respirator Fit Test
  • Physical/Health Statement (clear to work, annual)
  • Drug Screening (minimum 10-panel including THC saliva test for CA) within 60 days of start
• Professional Requirements:

  • Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%)
  • Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening (minimum 80%)
  • Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80%)
  • Prime Specialty Exam (minimum 80%)
  • Prime Skills Checklist
  • Prime CA Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (valid for 2 years)
  • Prime Criminal Background Check (within 1 year)
  • Prime SAM/EPLS exclusion search
  • Prime Agency Attestation (completed after all credentials uploaded)
  • Prime Form I-9 (Employment eligibility verification)
  • Prime Orientation Packet (Essentials form and post-test)
  • Prime Job Description signed by employee
  • Prime Education Verification
  • Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport
• Additional:

  • Prime Color-blind test (annual)
  • Prime Resume and 2 References (required for submission)

Notes

• Must be able to work weekends.
• CCRN certification and EPIC EMR experience are preferred but not mandatory.
• Compliance with all credentialing and health requirements is mandatory for onboarding.
• Drug screening for California includes both urine (excluding THC) and saliva THC tests due to state law.
