Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice on the Telemetry Unit. Responsibilities include:

• Directing and guiding patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel
• Maintaining standards of care in the Telemetry Unit
• Being accountable for care given to assigned patients
• Communicating with physicians about changes in patient condition, including cardiac monitoring and diagnostic results
• Responding quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response

Preferred experience with ventilator management. COVID vaccination and boosters preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
• Experience with DCI/BVP
• Current and valid California RN license
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

Required Onboarding Credentials and Compliance

• COVID-19 vaccination (2 vaccines plus booster or completed declination)
• MMR immunity (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer)
• Annual respirator fit test
• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity
• Influenza vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
• TB test within one year of start date
• Varicella immunity (vaccination or titer)
• Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted in some locations)
• Annual physical/health statement confirming fitness to work
• National criminal background check within one year
• Drug screening (minimum 10-panel including THC saliva test for California) within 60 days of start
• Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80%)
• Prime Skills Checklist
• Prime Specialty Exam (minimum 80%)
• Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening (minimum 80%)
• Education verification (diploma or transcripts)
• Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (valid for 2 years)
• Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)
• Driver’s license, state ID, or passport

Additional Requirements

• Up-to-date resume reflecting recent work history
• Two professional references, including one from a manager or direct supervisor
• Completion of agency attestation and other onboarding documentation

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Ventilator management experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• This is a day shift position on a telemetry unit.

This position requires a highly skilled RN with telemetry experience, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to manage complex cardiac patients safely.
