• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 HPW, 3x12hr NIGHTS (1900-0730)
• Call Requirement: Only for low census or if picking up

Job Description

• Work in an IMC variable acuity 20-bed unit.
• Experience with adults and pediatrics required.
• ICU experience required.
• Candidates must be willing to care for ICU, IMC, and med-surg patients at any given time.
• Patient ratio guidelines:

  • ICU: 1:1-3
  • IMC: 1:4
  • Med-Surg: 1:5-6 (subject to change based on patient acuity)

Required Certifications

• BLS: Basic Life Support
• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• NIHSS: National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale
• PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (for RNs in specific areas)
• TNCC: Trauma Nursing Core Course (for RNs working ER/ED)
• ENPC: Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (for RNs working ER/ED)
• CPI: Crisis Prevention Institute Certification (for Behavioral Health positions)
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for RNs in Neuro/Trauma ICU

Additional Requirements

• Current Driver's License or Government-issued photo ID
• State License Verification (WI CNA license required)
• Background Check: Must include state background checks for every state resided in the last 3 years
• Employment Application: Must include 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps
• References: Two required, one must be from a supervisor level or higher within the last year

Health Documents

• Physical Exam: Required within 12 months of start
• TB Testing: Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 12 months prior to start
• Vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine required during flu season
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine preferred
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination required
  • Varicella vaccination or proof of disease history required
  • Rubeola, Mumps, and Rubella vaccinations or proof of immunity required

Competencies

• Unit Specific Competency exam required within 12 months of start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for specific units

Additional Information

• Candidates must complete all surveys in the ReadySet system prior to clearance.
• Color vision screening required within a year of start.
• Must provide a photo for badge purposes.
