MRI Tech

Location: Antioch, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift, 5x8 hours, Monday through Friday. Variable shifts are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Hours: 8 per day, 40 per week

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist experience (2 years)
• MRI Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ARMRIT or ARRT (MR)
• IV Certification
• Graduate of a Joint Commission-approved School of Radiologic Technology or an accredited MRI program, or equivalent education/experience (no specific degree required)

Preferred Qualifications

• ARRT (R)
• Previous experience as an MRI Technologist
• Prior work experience in an acute care facility

Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of MRI procedures performed on any or all body organs, systems, or structures
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
• Knowledge of body mechanics for safely moving and positioning patients
• Ability to assess, treat, or care for patients of all ages, from neonate to geriatric
• Understanding of MRI safety, including identifying risk factors, contraindications, and items that may become or cause damage in high magnetic fields and radio frequency energy
• Proficiency with multiple computerized systems and PACS (picture archiving and communicating systems)
• Ability to educate patients and answer their questions before each study

Pre-Start Requirements

Background and Screening:

• 7-year background check within 6 months of start
• Sex offender search within 90 days of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG searches, updated annually
• FACIS Level 3 search within 2 weeks of start, updated monthly
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, with no gaps
• Work history verification for up to 7 years, with gaps over 30 days explained
• 2 professional references

Health and Immunizations:

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB result (QuantiFERON or T-SPOT within 90 days of start, or 2 PPDs) and annual TB screening questionnaire
• Negative chest X-ray within 1 year of start, required only for candidates with a positive TB questionnaire or positive PPD history
• Proof of measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity, or a titer or declination as applicable
• Adult Tdap within 10 years of start
• Annual flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
• In-person color blind exam
• Annual fit test for an acceptable N95 mask
