Step-Down RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN position in Saint Louis, Missouri.
• Start date is about 3–4 weeks out, depending on compliance tier.
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30.
• 36 hours per week.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.

Unit / Setting

• DOU/Step-Down.
• Dual unit: PCU/Stepdown and floor side.
• Ratios: PCU 2–3; floor usually 4, sometimes 5.
• Nurses may work on either side.
• May float within scope to meet facility needs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Stepdown (2 years of experience)
• Stepdown experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac drips and the ability to manage and titrate them
• Experience with chest tube care and management
• Every other weekend
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility.
• No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract.

Preferred

• First-time travelers accepted.

• No on-call required.
• Block scheduling is not accommodated.
• Local candidates are not accepted.
• Charting system: EPIC.
• Scrub color: Navy Blue.
